Nicola Currie-Mullan of Barefoot Books – has very kindly offered to donate 12% of every sale of any ‘Bear’ book, puppet or puzzle. Lorraine Deane, East Lothian – has set herself a weight loss challenge – taking it in 12lb blocks. For every 1lb she loses, she will donate £2.

January (giving month) – donate £12 to WBF
February (educate myself month!) – Watch 12 documentaries and sum them up in 12, single words i.e.: frightening, amusing etc.
March (chill-out month) – Have a log cabin break and do 12 chill-out activities e.g. Learn to meditate, do a jigsaw etc.
April (gardening month) – do 12 things in the garden to prepare it for summer. Take before and after pictures.
May (planting month) – plant 12 pots in the garden with flowers all the colours of the rainbow.
June (music month) – learn 12 Bruce Springsteen songs then go and see him in concert!
July and August (fitness months) – this is the big one!! Climb Ben Nevis! Or at least, ‘Bag a Munro’ or climb the 7 hills around Edinburgh (this may need to be spread over a few months depending on weather). Do 12 star jumps at the top (if I get there and if I have enough energy!) I’ve put this over the two months as it will have to be done when the weather is good.
September (laughter month) – do 12 things that make me laugh – e.g. watch a sitcom, read a funny book, watch a comedy etc.
October (cooking month) – cook 2 dishes from 6 different countries i.e. 2 Italian dishes, 2 Scottish dishes, 2 Indian dishes etc.
November – to be decided.
December (Christmassy month!) – do 12 Christmassy things .i.e. go to a carol concert, watch ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’, buy a Christmas jumper etc!
